Albanian Apostolic Church , Albanian Church or simply Albanian Catholicos is a church existing
in Caucasian Albania . According to the Regulation of the Russian Senate dated April 10, 1836 based on the Decree of Emperor Nicholas I of March 11, 1836, it is included in the administration of the Armenian-Gregorian Church. In 1836, it was placed under the authority
of the Armenian Gregorian Church by Russia, and its activity was completely stopped. In 2003,
the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations registered the Albanian Udi Christian community. Work is being done by the state in the direction of restoring, protecting and holding religious services of Albanian churches, which are the material and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan. In 2003, one of the oldest churches in the Caucasus, the Kish temple in Sheki district, was restored, and in 2006, one of the 3 Christian churches located in the Nic settlement of Gabala district, Jotari Church named after St. Elisey, was restored and given to the community.
